Getting to Barcelona by train

Getting back at night

The Metro does not run all night, and the closing time depends on the day: midnight Sunday to Thursday, 02:00 on Fridays and the night before a public holiday, and continuous service on Saturday nights (TMB's current timetable, checked November 2026). That makes Tuesday and Wednesday night matches the tight ones. TMB and the club once agreed to extend the Metro to 01:00 after late kick-offs (2016, one year, renewable); we found no confirmation for 2026-27.

Match ends at 23:00A 21:00 kick-off ends around 23:00. Sunday to Thursday that leaves you about an hour before the Metro closes at midnight: go straight to Palau Reial (Line 3) or Collblanc (Line 5, Line 9 Sud, Line 10 Sud) and do not stop for food. On Friday you have until 02:00 and on Saturday the Metro runs through the night. TMB's circular match-day bus (978) runs until one and a half hours after the final whistle, but it is a loop around the stadium, not a route to the centre. Extra time or penalties can push you past the last Metro: the published closing time is when the last trains leave the two ends of each line, so check your last change.

Línia 3 (L3) Palau Reial → Trinitat Nova (via Les Corts and Plaça de Catalunya) not published TMB's current timetable: service until 24:00 Monday to Thursday and on Sundays, until 02:00 on Fridays and the eve of public holidays, and all night from Saturday to Sunday; the last trains leave each end of the line at that time, so they pass Palau Reial a little later. TMB adds trains and station staff on match nights. [source]

Línia 9 Sud (L9S) Collblanc → Aeroport T1 / T2 not published about every 7 min in normal service. The airport line. Same closing times as the rest of the Metro; for an early flight after a late match, a taxi is the safer plan. [source]

Queues at the station

There is no official figure for queues. Palau Reial gets very crowded about an hour before kick-off, so a second station (Collblanc, Les Corts or Maria Cristina) spreads the load; TMB adds trains and staff at the stations around the stadium on match nights. Expect a wait to get onto the platform after the final whistle.

If you miss it

When the Metro is closed, TMB's night buses (NitBus) take over, but we could not confirm which NitBus line stops by the stadium: plan the late-night route in the TMB planner before the match. The simple fallback is a taxi from Carrer Menéndez Pelayo or a ride-hailing car booked a few streets away from the crowd.

How a visitor gets a ticket

Members first, then general sale

A tourist can sometimes buy, but members come first. While capacity is limited the club keeps the 2026-27 Season Pass for members who already had one in 2025-26, and the new North Goal seats went to members. The official match calendar still lists some matches with a 'Tickets' link and others marked 'Let Me Know', and in some matches (such as the Champions League tie with Eintracht) the club reserved the whole stadium for members. The Clásico usually starts members-only.

Capacity and works change in phases: 62,652 since March 2026, and the third tier does not open in 2026-27 because the city requires a single licence. The club plans to close the stadium for about six months at the end of 2027 to install the roof (press report, 30 September 2026). Check the club's ticket page for each match.

Official channels only

We never link unofficial resellers: tickets bought there are cancelled at the gate, and in the UK reselling football tickets without the club’s authorisation is a criminal offence.

Getting there

Public transport

The stadium has no Metro station of its own. Nearest stops, per the club: Line 3 Palau Reial, Les Corts, Zona Universitària and Maria Cristina; Line 5 Collblanc, Badal and Ernest Lluch; Line 9 Sud / Line 10 Sud Collblanc. TMB's notices for the 31 October and 3 November 2026 matches name Collblanc and Palau Reial. Trams T1, T2 and T3 also stop nearby.

  1. Metro to Palau Reial (Line 3) or Collblanc (Line 5, Line 9 Sud, Line 10 Sud) and walk the last stretch. Which entrance to use depends on your ticket: the club sends the access point with the digital ticket 24 to 3 hours before the match.
  2. Pedestrian access points: I, K, L, M from Avinguda Joan XXIII towards Diagonal; Q, V, W from Travessera de les Corts; D, F, E from Carrer Martí i Franquès and Avinguda del Doctor Gregorio Marañón.
  3. Gates open one and a half to two hours before kick-off (the club's page gives both figures): plan for two.
  4. On match days, from two hours before kick-off to one and a half hours after the final whistle, lines H8, 54 and D20 end at Travessera de les Corts / Gran Via de Carles III and line 113 skips the Gregorio Marañón stop; TMB also runs a circular match-day route (978) around the area.

Driving and parking

Don't drive. The club's match-day page publishes no public car park for cars: it lists only motorbike parking (the former university car park at Bederrida, 750 vehicles, plus street spaces), permit parking for accessible spaces and coach areas. A July 2026 guide says private cars cannot enter the stadium area during the works.

Taxi and ride-hailing apps

The club names Carrer Menéndez Pelayo as the taxi drop-off and waiting area. Private-hire cars (VTC) may use the same area; the club leaves the exact pickup point to you.

Bags and documents

There is no left-luggage at the stadium. Laptops, pushchairs, power banks and long pointed umbrellas are not allowed in. The club publishes no backpack size limit: come with a small bag or none.

Documents: The club asks you to have the ticket and your ID documents ready at the gate. Carry your passport or national ID card.

Where to stay

Area Why Hotels
Les Corts / Maria Cristina Walkable to the stadium and on Metro Line 3 (Les Corts, Maria Cristina), so you can leave late without depending on a connection.
Plaça de Catalunya / Eixample Line 3 runs from Catalunya to Palau Reial and Les Corts with no change, and Catalunya is also on Line 1.
Collblanc On Line 5, Line 9 Sud (airport) and Line 10 Sud, so it works for a late match and an early flight.
