Getting back at night
Getting back is workable if you accept a wait. The Etihad Campus stop is right at the ground, a stabling siding lets trams wait nearby to speed up the exit, and the club says the post-match tram queue runs as normal this season. Metrolink does not run all night: roughly until midnight Sunday to Thursday and roughly 01:00 on Friday and Saturday nights. The club suggests waiting a while before leaving to dodge the worst crowd, especially when there is an event at the nearby Co-op Live arena.

Last direct tram to Piccadilly Gardens, about 10 minutes, per TfGM's first-and-last-tram tool (checked for 5–13 November 2026). Queues at the station
Large controlled queues form for the Etihad Campus stop after matches and big events. The platforms are wide to take the crowd, and the stop is the only one close to the ground: Holt Town and Velopark stay closed for a while after events, according to older club documents. If the queue is long, walking to Piccadilly or the city centre is the common alternative. No official queue time is published.
If you miss it
Walk to the city centre (about 35 minutes), join the shuttle buses or Bee Network buses on Ashton New Road, or take a licensed taxi from Piccadilly or Victoria station. In the centre, the 43 bus runs all night between Piccadilly Gardens and Manchester Airport.

How a visitor gets a ticket
Members first, then general sale
For most home games you need a Cityzens Matchday membership (or Premium or Junior), with one ticket per membership; some matches also ask for a purchase history. Tickets that season-ticket holders release go on the club's Ticket Exchange a few weeks before each game. The club says a limited number of matches may go on general sale, so a tourist can try, but derbies and big games are restricted. Hospitality is the other official route. Concerts at the stadium are sold through Ticketmaster.
In England it is a criminal offence to sell or pass on a ticket for a designated football match without the organiser's authorisation (section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994). Tickets from unofficial resellers can be cancelled at the gate. Buy only from the club.

We never link unofficial resellers: tickets bought there are cancelled at the gate, and in the UK reselling football tickets without the club’s authorisation is a criminal offence.

Getting there

Take the Metrolink to Etihad Campus: the stop is right next to the stadium, just outside the North Stand. From Manchester Piccadilly it takes 8–10 minutes; from Ashton-under-Lyne, 25. Bee Network buses also stop on Ashton New Road.
- Tram from Piccadilly, Piccadilly Gardens or Market Street to Etihad Campus. Each route runs about every 12 minutes; in the evening and on Sundays the Altrincham–Etihad Campus service also stops there.
- Buses run every 4–8 minutes from the city centre to stops on Ashton New Road, about a 20-minute ride.
- On foot from the city centre: about 35 minutes along a step-free, lit, signposted route. From Holt Town stop there is a 15-minute walking route called Citylink.
- General admission turnstiles open 2 hours before kick-off and hospitality entrances 3 hours before. Security checks and ticket scanning take time, so arrive early.

Driving and parking
Don't drive unless you have to. The club's 2026-27 access statement gives parking details only for Blue Badge holders (up to 371 spaces, booked in advance); we found no public car-park information from the club. Follow signs for Etihad Campus or SportCity from the M60.
- Ashton New Road, Grey Mare Lane and Merrill Street close for about 20 minutes after the final whistle, according to a visiting club's match guide.
- Postcode M11 3FF. Blue Badge parking is booked by writing to access@mancity.com; there are drop-off and pick-up points for people with limited mobility.

Taxi and ride-hailing apps
Taxi ranks (including accessible taxis) are at Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria stations. The club publishes no official taxi or ride-hailing pick-up point at the stadium.
- Ashton New Road is busy on match days. If you take a car, set the pick-up away from the stadium and the roads that close after the match.

Bags and documents
Bags up to A4 size (12 × 8 × 3 in) are allowed; backpacks and other large bags are not, unless you hold a club medical exemption certificate. Larger bags can be stored for a fee at the Bag Drop on Orange Car Park.
- Everyone goes through a bag check and a handheld wand sweep. If you have a pacemaker or another medical device, ask for a manual pat-down instead.
- Have your ticket ready, digital or physical. All food and drink kiosks are cashless: contactless or card only.
- Large flags and flagpoles, vapes and e-cigarettes, glass bottles and flags over 2 m × 1 m are among the items the club lists as prohibited; the full list is on the club's matchday page.
Documents: Staff may ask to see photo ID at security; children under 14 accompanied by an adult over 18 do not need it. Carry your passport.
