Getting back at night

Getting back means the shuttles, and the last one leaves late but not at a fixed time: it depends on the event. TCL's page for OL–Sparta Prague (11 August 2026) shows the first return from Décines at 22:55 and the last at 23:54; the OL–PAOK page shows the last bus and tram shuttle at 23:45; for Iron Maiden the last left at 00:15 and the first ones left as soon as the concert ended. Park-and-ride lots close from 00:30 to 00:45. The shuttle times for your match are on the event page, so read them before you book.

Match ends at 23:00Match ends around 23:00 (an OL kick-off at 21:00 finishes about 22:50). Go to the tram shuttle station north of the stadium: the platforms are split by destination (Part-Dieu, Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie, Meyzieu les Panettes). Bus shuttles to Eurexpo leave from the south side. Shuttles run from the final whistle, and for OL–PAOK the last bus and tram left at 23:45 and for OL–Sparta Prague at 23:54, so you have about an hour: do not stop for a drink. At Part-Dieu Villette Sud you are by the station and the metro and tram network; at La Soie you are at the end of Métro A. We could not find a published Lyon metro last-train time for 2026, so check the TCL app for your connection.

Shuttle Tram shuttle Groupama Stadium (north tram shuttle station) → Part-Dieu Villette Sud not published Last departure depends on the event: 23:54 for OL–Sparta Prague (11 August 2026, TCL), 23:45 for OL–PAOK (Europa League, 29 January), 00:15 for Iron Maiden, 00:30 for France–Fiji. No fixed time for a given match until it is published on its event page. [source]
Shuttle Tram shuttle Groupama Stadium (north tram shuttle station) → Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie (Métro A) not published Same operation and times as the Part-Dieu shuttle; La Soie is the end of Métro A towards Perrache. [source]
Shuttle Bus and tram shuttle Groupama Stadium → Meyzieu les Panettes park-and-ride not published Under 15 minutes. For OL–PAOK the shuttles ran back to the park-and-ride until 00:15 and the lot closed at 00:30; for the Iron Maiden concert the lot closed at 00:45. Eurexpo has its own bus shuttle from the south side of the stadium and is closed for some matches. [source]
Tram T3 Décines Grand Large → Lyon Part-Dieu not published The regular tram, about 800 m on foot from the stadium. Standard TCL fare. A last-tram time for Décines Grand Large is not published where we could read it, and the T7 stop in front of the stadium runs in the daytime only on the OL–PAOK page. [source]

Queues at the station

Expect a queue for the shuttle platform right after the match, because all the shuttles leave from the same two stations and a transport ticket is checked before boarding. Moving at once after the final whistle gets you onto an early shuttle; waiting does not help, since the last one leaves less than an hour after the end.

If you miss it

Walk the 800 m to Décines Grand Large for tram T3 and use the TCL app for the next departure, or take a taxi from near gate 1. Some businesses in the leisure estate next to the stadium stay open until 01:00, so you can wait out the crowd. Lyon's centre is far for a taxi and the shuttles are the only fixed night service; the last tram and metro times are not published for 2026 here.

How a visitor gets a ticket

General sale

Tickets are sold online only, on OL's official ticket site, and a tourist can buy them with no membership. Sales usually open the Monday before the match, so there is no long presale to miss. Official resale exists as a pool for season-ticket holders, in Ligue 1 only, from 10 days before the match; it is unclear who may buy from it. Remember the transport ticket is separate from the match ticket in 2026 (see getting there).

Buy only from OL's own ticket office. OL's FAQ warns that in France reselling tickets outside the official platform is a criminal offence, and tickets from other sellers can be refused at the gate.

Official channels only

We never link unofficial resellers: tickets bought there are cancelled at the gate, and in the UK reselling football tickets without the club’s authorisation is a criminal offence.

Getting there

Public transport

On match days the stadium is reached by dedicated tram and bus shuttles, with the regular tram as a back-up. Shuttles leave from Part-Dieu Villette Sud, Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie, and the Meyzieu les Panettes and Eurexpo park-and-ride lots. You must book the transport ticket online in advance; since 2026 the shuttles are no longer included in the match ticket or in club season tickets, and a standard TCL ticket does not give access to them. Regular tram T3 stops at Décines Grand Large (about 800 m on foot) and T7 at Décines – OL Vallée, in front of the stadium.

  1. Tram shuttle from Part-Dieu Villette Sud: direct to the stadium in under 20 minutes. For a concert the first shuttles left at 17:00; the departure times for each football match are on the event page of olvallee.fr and on tcl.fr.
  2. Tram shuttle from Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie, where Métro A ends: the same service pattern.
  3. Park-and-ride at Meyzieu les Panettes (T3 link) or Eurexpo (T5 link), then a bus or tram shuttle to the stadium. Lots open in the afternoon (Panettes Nord from 09:00 for a concert) and close shortly after the event.
  4. On foot or by regular tram: T3 to Décines Grand Large, then about 800 m. Works on T3 and T7 in spring 2025 forced replacement buses and cancelled the direct shuttles, so check the event page before relying on the tram.

Driving and parking

Possible only with a parking space booked in advance: access on event days is online-only and nothing is sold on the spot. The park-and-ride lots with a shuttle are easier than the stadium car parks.

Taxi and ride-hailing apps

Taxi drop-off is just past gate 1. The club does not publish a pick-up point for after the match, and ride-hailing apps are not mentioned on its access page. Expect road closures and high demand right after the final whistle.

Bags and documents

Only small bags: anything over 30 × 20 × 10 cm (A4 size) is banned, which rules out most backpacks and all suitcases. Bottles and flasks of any size, plastic or glass, are banned too, but reusable plastic cups (Ecocups) are allowed. Leave luggage at your hotel.

Documents: The house rules say staff may ask for an identity document and compare it with the name given when the ticket was bought. If it does not match, you can be refused entry. Bring your passport or ID card and buy the ticket in the name of the person who will use it.

Where to stay

Area Why
Lyon Part-Dieu The match-day tram shuttle leaves from Part-Dieu Villette Sud and takes under 20 minutes, the main station is next to it, and the Rhônexpress tram brings you from the airport. The way home is the shuttle you booked.
Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie (end of Métro A) The shuttle from the stadium also goes to La Soie, and from there Métro A runs to the centre of Lyon; you leave the shuttle and are on a metro line.
OL Vallée (next to the stadium) The stadium sits in an estate planned to include hotels and leisure, so staying there means you walk home and the last shuttle does not matter. You are about 12 km from the centre of Lyon.
