Getting back at night

Marseille is the city on this list where the night metro needs the most care in 2026. In normal service the last Métro 2 departure from the end of the line is 00:34, and RTM said in 2023 that the metro would stay open normally on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and on evenings with a match or event. But Marseille's metro has been shut early on weekday evenings (closing at 21:00) for works on the new automatic trains; only Thursdays have returned to normal hours since 25 June 2026. We found no 2026 notice that confirms the match-night exception, so on a Monday to Wednesday game check RTM before you go.

Match ends at 23:00Match ends around 23:00 (OM home kick-offs in 2026 were listed at 20:45). Board Métro 2 at Sainte-Marguerite Dromel or Rond-Point du Prado towards Gèze; Castellane (change to Métro 1 for the Vieux-Port) and Saint-Charles (station) are on the same line. Sainte-Marguerite Dromel is the end of the line, so its last departure is the 00:34 published by RTM for normal service, an hour and a half after the final whistle. Tram T3 also leaves from Dromel. If the match is on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, plan for the metro being closed: use bus 83 (Rond-Point du Prado to Vieux-Port, about 40 minutes) or a taxi. After 01:30, Noctambus line N1 leaves the Vieux-Port every hour until 04:30 on the nights from Thursday to Sunday.

Last services

ModeLineFrom → toLast serviceNote
Metro M2 Sainte-Marguerite Dromel → Castellane / Saint-Charles / Gèze 00:34 frequency raised for events. 00:34 is the normal last departure from the line's end (RTM press release, 2023). RTM said the metro stays open normally on Fridays to Sundays, holidays and match or event evenings. On weekday evenings the metro has been closing at 21:00 for works; Thursdays are back to normal since 25 June 2026. Check RTM on match day. [source]
Metro M2 Rond-Point du Prado → Castellane / Saint-Charles / Gèze not published frequency raised for events. The last departure at this intermediate stop is not published. Use the RTM app. [source]
Tram T3 Sainte-Marguerite Dromel → Castellane / city centre not published RTM said the tram network keeps its usual hours every day of the week during the metro works. A last tram time for the stadium stop is not published where we could read it. [source]
Bus 83 Rond-Point du Prado → Vieux-Port (via Corniche Kennedy) not published About 40 minutes to the Vieux-Port. Evening bus lines in Marseille were extended to 01:00 in 2024; the last time for bus 83 is not published here, so check the RTM app. An undated RTM evening-and-night flyer also shows bus B1 (it stops at Rond-Point du Prado) leaving Castellane every 20 minutes from 22:00, last departure at 00:55. [source]
Night bus Noctambus N1 Vieux-Port → La Timone / Luminy 04:30 one bus an hour from 01:30. Runs on the nights from Thursday to Friday, Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday, 01:30 to 04:30, and you can ask to get off between stops. It starts at the Vieux-Port, not at the stadium. N2 goes to Saint-Jérôme and Château-Gombert. Source dates from September 2024: confirm it is still running. [source]

Queues at the station

Métro 2 has two stations at the stadium, so the crowd splits between them: Rond-Point du Prado for the north and Jean Bouin sides, Sainte-Marguerite Dromel for the Ganay and south sides. RTM runs extra trains until the stadium empties. Buy a return ticket before the match, since the machines at the stations clog after the final whistle.

If you miss it

Walk to Rond-Point du Prado and take bus 83 or another evening bus into town (check the RTM app for the last one), or book a taxi or ride-hailing car a few streets from the stadium. On the nights from Thursday to Friday, Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday, the Noctambus N1 runs from the Vieux-Port from 01:30; the Vieux-Port is on the Corniche route of bus 83.

How a visitor gets a ticket

Members first, then general sale

OM sells tickets in phases on its official ticket site: members of the club's paid Peuple Bleu&Blanc programme get priority (48 hours in the 2024 example we found), then single tickets open to the general public, up to 8 per account for a normal Ligue 1 game. A tourist can buy in the general phase without membership. A normal match is realistic; the big ones, above all OM–PSG, sell out in the member phase. Official resale exists but is limited to season-ticket holders, so a tourist cannot count on it.

Buy only from OM's own ticket office. In France reselling tickets outside authorised platforms is a criminal offence, and tickets from other sellers can be cancelled at the gate.

Official channels only

We never link unofficial resellers: tickets bought there are cancelled at the gate, and in the UK reselling football tickets without the club’s authorisation is a criminal offence.

Getting there

Public transport

Take Métro 2: it has two stops at the stadium and the city tourist office says its frequency is raised from 2 hours before the event and extended after it ends. Tram T3 and buses 19, 83 and B1 also serve it. One RTM ticket covers bus, metro and tram transfers for 1 hour. Important in 2026: the Marseille metro has been closing early on weekday evenings for works on the new automatic trains, so on a Monday to Wednesday match check RTM before you rely on it (see the return section).

  1. Métro 2 to Rond-Point du Prado: for the Jean Bouin stand and the Virage Nord – Patrice de Peretti end.
  2. Métro 2 to Sainte-Marguerite Dromel (the end of the line) or tram T3 to the same stop: for the Ganay stand and the Virage Sud – Chevalier Roze end.
  3. Bus 83 runs from Vieux-Port to Rond-Point du Prado along the Corniche Kennedy in about 40 minutes; bus 19 runs from Escale Borély to Rond-Point du Prado. Routes can be changed about 2 hours before an event, so check the RTM alerts.
  4. Tickets are sold at metro stations and tram stops, and bus drivers sell them for cash only. Card payment also works on bus, metro and tram.

Driving and parking

Avoid driving if you can. Many car parks near the stadium are closed or reserved for the event, and streets can be blocked without notice. The city's advice is to park outside and take the metro.

Taxi and ride-hailing apps

Taxis and ride-hailing cars work in Marseille, but no official pick-up point for the stadium is published. Match-night streets around the ground can be blocked, so walk a few streets away from the stadium before you book.

Bags and documents

The club's house rules ban suitcases, motorbike helmets and other large luggage. No size limit for bags is published. Bags are searched at the gates, and paid left-luggage lockers are set up at the entrances on match days, so small items you cannot take in can be left there. Leave suitcases at your hotel.

Documents: The house rules say security checks, bag searches, pat-downs and identity checks can be imposed by the prefecture. Whether a ticket must match the buyer's name was not confirmed, so carry your passport or ID card.

Vieux-Port Bus 83 goes from Rond-Point du Prado to the Vieux-Port along the Corniche in about 40 minutes, and the Noctambus N1 leaves from the Vieux-Port after 01:30 on the weekend nights. Métro 1 links it to Castellane for the metro.
Saint-Charles (station area) Métro 2 runs direct from Saint-Charles to the stadium with no change, and the airport bus A1 and the TGV arrive here.
