Getting to London by train

Getting back at night

Getting back is fine, but plan for the queue. After the final whistle, entry to Wembley Park station is through Olympic Way and can take 15–60 minutes; Chiltern runs a colour-coded queue outside Wembley Stadium station. On Friday and Saturday nights the Jubilee line runs all night; on other nights the last trains to central London leave around midnight.

Match ends at 23:00Event ends at 23:00, Monday to Thursday: with up to an hour of queuing you reach the platform close to the last trains. Per TfL's timetable, the last Jubilee train from Wembley Park towards Baker Street, Bond Street, Westminster and London Bridge is at 00:24, and the last Metropolitan train is at 00:32 (it terminates at Baker Street; the last one through to King's Cross St. Pancras and Liverpool Street is at 23:32). From Wembley Central, the last Bakerloo train to Elephant & Castle is at 00:02. Friday or Saturday: the Jubilee line runs all night (Night Tube) every 10 minutes, so there is no deadline. Sunday is the tight one: the last Jubilee train through to central London is at 23:37 and the last Metropolitan to Baker Street at 00:12. If you miss them, the N18 night bus runs from Wembley Central to Marylebone, Baker Street, Oxford Circus and Trafalgar Square all night.

Queues at the station

Wembley Park: after the final whistle the only way into the station is the queue along Olympic Way; Wembley Park (the estate operator) says to expect a 15–60 minute wait. Wembley Stadium station: Chiltern runs a queuing system outside with staff and signs by destination (Blue Queue = Marylebone only), only lets down as many people as the next train can take, and aims to keep the wait under 30 minutes. Wembley Central is a 20-minute walk and is often used to avoid the Olympic Way crowd.

If you miss it

Night bus N18 from Wembley Central Station runs all night to Marylebone Station, Baker Street, Oxford Circus and Trafalgar Square (the N83 does not go to central London). Licensed taxis use the event-day rank on Engineers Way. Or wait it out: Wembley Park's bars and restaurants stay open late after events.

How a visitor gets a ticket

Members first, then general sale

England men's home games go to England Supporters Travel Club members first, then to England+ members (a paid membership in the England app), then on general sale at Wembley's online ticket office. A tourist can try the general sale, but big games sell out before it: England v Croatia (12 November 2026) is already sold out. Cup finals (FA Cup, Carabao Cup, play-offs) are not sold by Wembley at all: each finalist sells its own allocation through its club ticket office, under its own rules. Concert tickets are sold by the promoter or, for some shows, by Wembley's own ticket office.

In England it is a criminal offence to sell or pass on a ticket for a designated football match without the organiser's written authorisation, and Wembley's ground regulations let stewards confiscate resold tickets and refuse entry. For finals, buy only from the two finalists' official club ticket offices.

Official channels only

We never link unofficial resellers: tickets bought there are cancelled at the gate, and in the UK reselling football tickets without the club’s authorisation is a criminal offence.

Getting there

Public transport

Wembley is a public-transport stadium with three stations: Wembley Park (Jubilee and Metropolitan lines), Wembley Stadium (Chiltern Railways, one stop from Marylebone) and Wembley Central (Bakerloo line and London Overground). Pay with contactless or Oyster; Wembley Park is in Zone 4.

  1. Metropolitan line from Baker Street: two stops to Wembley Park, about 12 minutes. The Jubilee line also stops at Wembley Park (about 19 minutes from Bond Street).
  2. From Wembley Park, go down the steps onto Olympic Way and walk straight to the stadium: about 8–10 minutes.
  3. Chiltern Railways from London Marylebone: one stop to Wembley Stadium station (under 10 minutes), then about 8 minutes on foot. Extra trains run on event days.
  4. Wembley Central (Bakerloo line, London Overground from Euston): about 20 minutes on foot. Useful to avoid the crowd at Wembley Park.
  5. Buses 18, 83, 92, 182, 206, 223, 297 and 483 serve the area. Contactless cards issued outside the UK work, but ask your bank about foreign-transaction fees.

Driving and parking

Don't drive unless you have to. On event days, street parking is reserved for residents with permits; the only legal option is an official car park booked in advance.

Taxi and ride-hailing apps

On event days there is a taxi rank on Engineers Way, next to the arena (OVO Arena Wembley). Use only licensed black cabs or licensed minicabs. Uber and Bolt both operate in London.

Bags and documents

One small bag per person, no bigger than A4: 297 × 210 × 210 mm. Bigger bags are refused at the outer cordon, and there is no exception for a half-empty bag folded down.

Documents: Tickets are mostly digital passes saved in your phone's wallet (QR or NFC tap at the turnstile): charge your phone. The stadium's ground regulations say tickets are not transferable and cannot be resold without its written permission; holders of transferred tickets can be refused entry. No general photo-ID rule is published on the official pages, but Wembley Park advises bringing ID as proof of ownership: carry your passport.
